Channel Review: Dance Fitness With Jessica
By MzFit
- 2 minutes read - 424 wordsDance Fitness with Jessica is one of my favorite channels. And that was even before I was fortunate enough to attend several of Jessica’s live dance classes when she goes on tour. She has a very strong following and has a network of local dance instructors around the United States and Canada who have gotten certified via her instructor training. So even if you don’t live in Knoxville, TN, you can find a local class.
Here’s what you can expect:
High-Energy Workouts
Jessica’s dance routines will get your heart pumping and your body moving. But whether you’re a seasoned dancer or a beginner, her choreography is accessible and fun. Yes, if you’re new to dance fitness, it can seem a little intimidating at first. But her channel does a good job of showcasing her local studio where you notice students making mistakes and learning just like the rest of us. Her routines tend to incorporate variations on the same moves. And nothing requires crazy athleticism, so it’s definitely suitable for beginners.
Positive Community
Also, the Dance Fitness with Jessica community is incredibly supportive. Her videos are often filmed in her local studio in Knoxville, Tennessee and you get to see strong representation of people from all backgrounds and all body types. Jessica herself is very positive and encouraging, but not over the top.
A Variety of Popular Music
Jessica’s channel features dance workouts set to popular songs. She tends to follow the music charts, so you can find anything from Katie Perry in her older videos to new music from Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album.
Where to Start
Pro tip: if you’re new to dance fitness, start by focusing on the footwork.
Once you get the pattern of the feet you can add the arms and hands.
The vast majority of her videos are less than 5 minutes, so it doesn’t take a big commitment to try it out. If you want more than a single song, you can attend one of her live streamed classes. Or you can follow along with our daily class schedule that put together unique daily 15/30/45/60 minute advertisement-free sequences of her routines for some flexibility. Essentially a virtual class.
